VN calls for united efforts against terrorism at UN Security Council’s meeting on Africa’s security
(VOVWORLD) -During an online UN Security Council’s meeting on Friday to discuss the situation in Africa’s Sahel region, Ambassador and Head of the UN Mission to the UN, Dang Dinh Quy, urged parties involved to strengthen their unity to fight against terrorism.

The Ambassador said that though important progress has been made over the years, greater national, regional and international efforts are needed to consolidate still fragile peace as well as to address paramount development challenges in Sahel. Vietnam is concerned about deteriorating security environment in some countries, especially violent extremism, terrorism and criminal activity. Vietnam supports comprehensive approach and effort to enhance regional and international cooperation and partnership to promote sustainable social and economic development while protecting civilians, especially women and children in the context of climate change, humanitarian challenges and the Covid-19 pandemic.
