For Russian listeners, VOV has been an attractive source of information on the radio.
Svetlana Glazunova is a lecturer of Vietnamese language in the Russian Academy of Diplomacy. “I have listened to Voice of Vietnam for a long time, since I was a student. I found the signature tune: “This is the Voice of Vietnam, broadcasting from Hanoi, the capital of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam” very close. Presenters’ voice is very clear and friendly for Vietnamese learning,” Glazunova said.
Political scientist and Director of Ho Chi Minh Academy, Saint Petersburg University, Vladimir Kolotov said he began listening to VOV programs in 1990 and has been following it since then. “We have a lot of media platforms now and we could watch TV, but radio remains a traditional media. We could do other things in at home while listening to the radio. As a researcher, I need to listen to VOV to be updated about Vietnam’s views on international issues,” said Kolotov.
