(VOVworld) – A bus attack in Volgograd, 90 km south of Mossow, Russia was claimed by Naida Asiyalova, the 30–year wife of Dmitry Sokolov, a member of a terrorist group in Dagestan in the North Caucasus.
Initial investigations released by Deputy Director of Russian Investigation Agency, Valery Safonov, show that the attack killed at least 6 people and injured 37 others, some of them still in critical condition. Volgograd authorities have increased security measures on public transport, raised the warning level to yellow, and declared 3 days of mourning for the victims.

Russian President Vladimir Putin sent messages of condolence to the families and asked the relevant agencies to help the injured and victims’ families both materially and spiritually.

The international community has condemned the terrorist bomb attack in Russia. UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe also sent messages of condolence to the victims’ families.
