Mr. Sy said the next five to ten years will require journalism, and particularly VOV, to devise breakthrough strategies.
"We’re grateful for the contributions of generations of VOV leaders and staff over the last 76 years. We understand more clearly than ever that our mission is to build a strong, comprehensive, united team to help promote Vietnam to the world," he said.
"During the COVID-19 pandemic, we also need to use our communications capacity as an effort to help Vietnam contain the epidemic and restore production and normal life."
VOV broadcast its first program at 11h30 on September 7, 1945, five days after President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence that gave birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam).
