The first National Press Prize on the National Assembly and People's Council, also known as Dien Hong prizes, honor authors with excellent journalistic works covering people’s representatives.

Since the awards were launched four months ago, organizers have received 3,328 entries from more than 170 press agencies across Vietnam. Parliamentary activities have been covered by journalists vividly and attractively.

Bui Van Cuong, Secretary General of the National Assembly, Chairman of the National Assembly Office, and Head of the Organizing Committee, said, “The Dien Hong Prize is a politically significant journalism award and belongs to the national press award system to affirm the role of the National Assembly as the highest representative body of the people, create consensus in society, and contribute to bringing policies and laws to life.”

Journalist Le Thu of VOV’s News Department (VOV1), one of the prize winners, said, "VOV1 reporters worked together on the series of articles for about two months. We reported the problems and then recommended solutions to the authorities to promptly address these problems to meet the people's expectations.”
