War Invalids and Martyrs Day marked across Vietnam
(VOVWORLD) - Various activities have been held nationwide to mark Vietnam's 72nd War Invalids’ and Martyrs’ Day.
On Wednesday, at a meeting with outstanding female war invalids, Chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women’s Union Nguyen Thi Thu Ha showed her deep gratitude for their sacrifice. She expressed her hope that the invalid women will continue to be the shining example of how to live gracefully despite hardship.
A 2-day event took place in Ha Giang province to pay tribute to invalids and fallen soldiers who contributed greatly to national liberation and construction. It was co-hosted by the Ministry of Public Security and Ha Dong Eye Hospital.
A meeting between young people and 400 severely wounded war veterans was held on Wednesday in Hanoi. Themed “Being proud of the past, following the example of war heroes”, the event was hosted by the Youth Union and the Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs. Secretary of the Youth Union Nguyen Ngoc Luong said a large number of young people have been engaged in activities to take care of families of revolutionary contributors, promoting the “Paying debts of gratitude” movement.
On Wednesday, the Ministry of Education and Training held a meeting to honor current staff who are war invalids or children of martyrs.
