Welcome ceremony held for Vietnam’s top leader in Paris

(VOVWORLD) -A welcome ceremony was held on Monday for Party General Secretary and State President To Lam and the Vietnamese high-ranking delegation according to national protocol at the Invalides Palace in Paris.

As the General Secretary and President and the delegation entered the main courtyard, they were greeted by Minister of Defense Sébastien Lecornu and the Chief of the Army of the Paris region. Lecornu invited the top leader to the position of honor. A military band played the National Anthem of Vietnam and France.

Afterwards, the French Defense Minister invited To Lam to review the honor guard. Then, the General Secretary and President To Lam introduced the members of the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation on the official visit to the France. Minister Lecornu introduced French delegates to the official welcoming ceremony.

After the welcoming ceremony, the Vietnamese leader is scheduled to have meetings with the President of the French National Assembly, the National Secretary of the French Communist Party (PCF), and representatives from the France-Vietnam Friendship Association.

He will hold talks with President Emmanuel Macron and witness the exchange of cooperation agreements between the two countries, visit the headquarters of UNESCO, and meet with the President of the French Senate.
