The WFP forecasts a huge increase in worldwide hunger unless action is taken to slow global warming. It says progress in reducing global hunger is under threat by conflict and the increase in climate disasters. For the first time in several decades, the WFP reports that the number of people suffering from chronic food shortages has risen.

The Food Agriculture Organization announced that there has been a rise in world hunger for three years in a row. It warns that, without increased efforts, the world will fall far short of achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals target of eradicating hunger by 2030.
