WHO: No evidence of COVID-19 outbreaks in Wuhan before December 2019
(VOVWORLD) - There is insufficient evidence to determine that coronavirus was being spread in China's central Wuhan before December 2019, a joint World Health Organization (WHO) and Chinese expert mission into the origins of the Covid-19 pandemic in Wuhan said on Tuesday.

Dr. Liang Wannian, an expert with China’s Health Commission, told reporters at the briefing the novel coronavirus could have been circulating in other regions before it was officially identified in Wuhan. He said the virus involves transmission to humans via an as yet unknown intermediary species, adding pangolins were potential candidates but other animals - including mink and even cats - may also be reservoirs.
A team of experts appointed by the World Health Organization (WHO) completed its 28-day mission to the Chinese city of Wuhan this week seeking clues about the origins of COVID-19.
