The contest is part of activities marking the 65th anniversary of the capital’s Liberation Day, October 10.  

The organising board received nearly 2,700 entries from professional and amateur photographers from eight countries - Vietnam, India, Singapore, Malaysia, Myanmar, Spain, the Philippines, and Japan. The photos were divided into different themes: Thang Long Hanoi - a thousand years of civilization; the City for Peace; Hanoi – integration and development; green, clean, beautiful Hanoi; and beautiful moments of elegant and refined Hanoians. 16 photos were awarded prizes, 15 by Vietnamese photographers and 1 by a Singaporean photographer.
