(VOVWORLD) - The competition of making specialty coffee was held at the 8th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2023 in Dak Lak province with 33 contestants from 9 provinces and cities.

Truong Thi Thien from Dak Lak province won the first prize in the filter-making contest. The first prize in the V60 Pour brewing contest was given to Pham Ngoc Thach from Hanoi.
Nguyen Tan Vinh, Head of the Jury for the filter-making contest said: “The coffee brewing contest opens an interesting playing field for bartenders. The contestants are very professional, who are as good as those at international competitions. It’s a good sign for Vietnam’s barista and the coffee sector. Attending the festival the contestants brought with them a variety of coffee from many parts of Vietnam, which showed that they have learned a lot about Vietnamese specialty coffee and coffee growing regions.”
The contest offers a chance for coffee lovers to share knowledge and experience, and for businesses to connect and seek partners, contributing to promoting the Vietnamese coffee culture and developing the country’s specialty coffee industry
