(VOVworld) – The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Can Tho city held a workshop this week on agriculture and aquaculture products of the Mekong Delta and the impact of the global economy in 2017.

Economist Le Dang Doanh spoke about the fluctuation of the world’s economy and politics and analyzed various scenarios and impacts on Vietnam’s economy, especially in the Mekong Delta. He said the Mekong Delta needs to restructure its economy to minimize the impacts of climate change, drought, salt intrusion, and tax barriers. Mr. Doanh said: “It is essential to give up traditional cultivation practices and produce in accordance with market demand. It’s necessary to focus on quality not quantity while raising awareness about climate change adaptation”.
