(VOVWORLD) - Experts have reviewed the possible impact of climate change on Vietnam’s sustainable development and energy security during a workshop as part of the ongoing Vietnam Economic Forum.

Addressing the event on Thursday, Head of the Party Central Committee’s Economic Commission, Nguyen Van Binh, asked for the inclusion of the threat of climate change in sectoral and provincial social economic development plans: “We need to improve public awareness of the impact of climate change so as to identify related responsibilities in ecosystem protection, especially in the Mekong Delta and Ho Chi Minh City. This will help us map out preparedness scenarios for the future.”
