Workshop on legal system for WMD prevention in Vietnam
(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam’s national coordinating agency for the prevention and control of the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction (WMD) and the US’s Export Control and Related Border Security Assistance (EXBS) program are jointly organizing a workshop on building a roadmap for a legal system on prevention of weapons of mass destruction in Vietnam.

During the three-day event, participants have been introduced to international regulations on strategic trade controls set by UN Security Council Resolution 1540 on preventing the proliferation of WMD and their means of delivery, international obligations, and treaties and mechanisms relating to the prevention of the proliferation of strategic goods and WMD.
Delegates proposed a roadmap to build a legal system on prevention and control of WMD in Vietnam.
Vietnam has ratified almost all relevant international treaties and legal documents on prevention and control of WMD.
