(VOVworld)- The France-Vietnam Friendship Association hosted a workshop on Vietnam in Paris on Tuesday under the theme  “Vietnam’s stable economic growth and successful international integration policies”. Vietnamese Ambassador Duong Chi Dung highlighted Vietnam’s great achievements during three decades of reform.

Despite a prolonged global economic crisis, Vietnam has managed to maintain a growth rate of more than 5% and has become an attractive destination to investors thanks to many preferential policies. Ambassador Dung updated delegates on the current East Sea situation. Workshop participants voiced their objection to China’s illegal actions and demanded that China remove its oil rig from Vietnam’s waters and respect international law.

Senator Marie-Christine Blandin, Chairwoman of the French Senate’s Committee on Culture, Education and Communication and Vice Chair of the France-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians’ group, said Chinese ships ramming and sinking a Vietnamese fishing boat is a brutal act which crosses the line.
