World Population Day urges investment in teenage girls
(VOVworld) – A meeting to mark World Population Day on the theme of investing in teenage girls was held in Hanoi on Saturday.
In her address, Health Minister Nguyen Thi Kim Tien said that Vietnam should make the most of its current period of golden population structure to boost socio-economic development. She said Vietnam has acknowledged the rights of women and has invested in education and healthcare for all.
She added that Vietnam will make greater efforts to ensure that teenage girls will have their rights exercised: “If teenage girls are given access to healthcare and educational services, job opportunities, and safety, the will have good personal development and a bright future, contributing to socio-economic development. The Ministry of Health urges central and local organizations and the public to boost communications and help teenage girls enjoy their rights to education, healthcare and non-violence.”
