Writer Le Luu passes away
(VOVWORLD) -Writer Le Luu passed away on Wednesday afternoon at his home in Tan Chau, Khoai Chau, Hung Yen, at the age of 81.

A member of the Vietnam Writers Association since 1974, he wrote multiple famous short stories and novels such as "Opening the forest", "Colonel can't joke", "Waves at the bottom of the River", "The story of Cuoi village", "A lost time", and "A long time away".
He won the second prize of the Arts and Literature newspaper in 1968 for the short story "The man with the gun" and A prize of the Vietnam Writers Association in 1990 for the novel "A long time away".
He was awarded the first State Prize for Literature and Art and served as Director of the Center for Entrepreneurial Culture in Hanoi.
The novel "A long time away" is one of the great works that saw Le Luu rise to fame and changed the literary life of Vietnam in the 1980s. The novel’s ideology marked a turning point of Vietnamese literature from 1954.
