(VOVworld) - Yemen's government temporarily suspended on Sunday its participation in talks with Houthi militia delegation during peace talks in Kuwait in protest at their takeover of Al-Amaliqa military base and continued ceasefire violations.

Yemen Foreign minister and head of delegation Abdulmalek al-Mikhlafi said that the suspension will last until rebels stop their ceasefire violations and withdraw from the base. A statement by the government delegation called on the UN envoy and other Gulf states and countries backing the peace process to apply pressure on the other side to comply with peace requirements.
