(VOVworld) - Nearly 170 Overseas Vietnamese (OVs) students are attending a youth summer camp themed ‘My Homeland’s Sea and Islands’ which opened on Friday in Quang Ninh province.
At the opening ceremony, Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Thanh Son said the camp provides a great occasion for OVs youth to develop a better appreciation for the homeland’s rich tradition and heritages and the importance of protecting the nation’s sovereignty over sea and islands.
On the first day, participants visited Ha Long Bay, held an exchange with local youth, joyously sang songs about sea and islands and played a variety of games. The summer camp will take place at many locations across the country with a wide range of activities until July 27.
