32 million Vietnamese workers impacted by COVID-19
(VOVWORLD) - About 32 million Vietnamese workers were negatively affected by the COVID-19 pandemic with either job losses, reduced income or rotational leave.

The figure was released at a General Statistics Office meeting on jobs and employment in the fourth quarter and in 2020.
Vu Thi Thu Thuy, Director of the Statistical Data Collection and Information Technology Application Department, said: “Employment has seen signs of recovery since the third quarter of this year. As the pandemic continues complicatedly worldwide, the Vietnamese government has adopted many solutions to boost the domestic economy, mobilize social resources, and prevent the pandemic. We expect that economic development and pandemic prevention and control policies will continue with good results.”
Experts say it’s necessary to systematically implement policies to support businesses and organize vocational training programs for different groups of workers.
