They warned of Vietnam’s low readiness for this industrial revolution. Of 100 countries recently assessed by the World Economic Forum, Vietnam ranks 90th in technology and innovation, 92nd in technology platform, and 77th in creativity.
Tran Chi Dung, an official of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said: “Vietnamese workers, who are mainly at the 2nd level at the moment, need to upgrade themselves to the 3rd level through competent use of the internet and software specially designed for production. The 4th industrial revolution requires Vietnam to identify economic sectors where it can combine technology and natural advantages and shift to human resource training that fit those sectors”.
Participants suggested that the Government create incentives to improve training and expand job opportunities.
