(VOVworld) – The Front pages of the People Newspaper and the People’s Army Newspaper today both printed the headline “71st anniversary of August Revolution and Independence Day”, and pictures of late President Ho Chi Minh and many other articles about the August Revolution. An Editorial in the People Newspaper emphasized that the August Revolution was a victory of a great national unity, patriotic tradition, and the wisdom of the Vietnamese people. It is the victory of correct revolutionary thought, wise leadership, strategic vision, the acumen to create and grasp opportunity, and a combination of national strength and the strength of the time, led by the Communist Viet Nam and President Ho Chi Minh.

Meanwhile, an editorial in the People’s Army Newspaper affirmed that the great success and valuable historical lessons learnt from the August Revolution were the source of the people’s and army’s victories, under the leadership of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh.

Marking the 71st anniversary of the August Revolution and Independence Day, the Hanoi Municipal Department of Culture has organized a series of arts, cultural and sporting activities at August Revolution Square, Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square, My Dinh Stadium area, Son Tay town and a number of other public places in Hanoi’s districts.

Many cultural and sporting events will also be held in Dien Bien and Ha Giang provinces marking this occasion.
