(VOVworld) – The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has turned its focus to attracting foreign investment in high-tech and environmentally-friendly projects in the future.

The most prioritized sectors will be the preserving and processing of agro-forestry and agricultural products, particularly after harvest preservation, to raise the products’ competitiveness and add value. The Ministry is finalizing the legal conditions towards more transparent and simplified procedures in order to offer the best incentive conditions for foreign investors. The Ministry will diversify investment resources, relying not only on foreign investment, but also by encouraging localities and Vietnamese economic sectors to get involved in investment projects, technical consultancy, and policy making process. So far, 34 countries and territories have operational projects in Vietnam’s agricultural sector, with Taiwan of China ranking first.
