(VOVWORLD) -The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) on Wednesday hosted the augural ceremony of the Bai Dinh Pagoda Festival in the northern province of Ninh Binh, with the attendance of Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam.

Most Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu, Standing Vice Chairman of the VBS’s Executive Council, said Bai Dinh Pagoda is a scenic and holy site, honored by both ancient and contemporary people. “In order to promote the Buddhist culture and morality, build a peaceful life, and pay tribute to our ancestors, Bai Dinh pagoda has been developed into a Buddhist center and a symbol of solidarity and harmony.”
