(VOVWORLD) - Ho Chi Minh City’s Book Street has launched a poem festival to mark the new lunar year.
Verses by well known poets in Vietnamese history representing 4 seasons in the year and 12 zodiacal animals have been included in quizzes and contests. A representative from the organizing board, Head of Phuong Nam Culture Company’s PR division, Mai Ngan Hoa, said various poem contests have been held during the new year celebration:
“We hope to turn the book street into a poem street, too. Vietnamese people have a tradition of compiling poems on the first days of the new year in a wish for a progressive and clear-thinking mindset,” Hoa said.
Many visitors have flocked to attractive destinations in Ho Chi Minh City, including Tao Dan flower festival and Nguyen Hue flower street.
