Cat Ba Island recognized as national heritage site

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has ranked Cat Ba Island in Hai Phong City as the national heritage site. The ranking is of significance for the City in preparation for the Red River Delta National Tourism Year next year. It’s fundamental for the city to submit to the UNESCO for recognition of the Cat Ba - Long Chau Archipelago as a World Natural Heritage Site. Earlier, the National Heritage Council including 27 members convened a meeting with the UNESCO Committee Vietnam and the authorities of Hai Phong City passed a dossier of the island for submission to UNESCO.
