At a press conference today, Nguyen Hai Huu, Head of the Department for Child Care and Protection of the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, said that this event would be a good chance for children to discuss changes to the draft amendments to the Law on Child Protection, Care and Education. Huu said: “This year’s forum is a new step with breakthroughs because issues related to the revised law is very difficult and requires children to have a realistic overview so that they can suggest any changes involving the responsibilities of families, sectors and departments. Children will have a better understanding of their rights and what they deserve.”
This year’s forum is expected to include the participation of 180 children between the ages of 10 and 16 from 29 cities and provinces.
