In his address, Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh said the system aims to boost business-to-business connectivity, and will give companies opportunities generated by new-generation free trade agreements Vietnam has signed, given that the COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted face-to-face partnership activities.
"The EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement was approved by the National Assembly. The agreement will come into effect on August 1st, bringing along advantages with tax reduction and preferences, giving Vietnamese businesses better access to EU markets and attract more investment from the European Union and the world to Vietnam," said Minister Tuan Anh.
Swiss Ambassador to Vietnam Ivo Sieber reiterated Switzerland’s commitment in supporting this project and boosting Vietnam-Switzerland relations.
The database was launched under a coordinated effort by the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Industry Agency and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), part of the World Bank Group, with sponsorship from Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs.
