Deputy PM Vu Duc Dam: Mobilizing social resources to prevent HIV/AIDS
(VOVworld) – Deputy PM Vu Duc Dam urged related ministries and agencies to further efforts to mobilize all possible social resources for the fight against HIV/AIDS as the state budget and ODA funds for HIV/AIDS preventive programs have reduced since the beginning of this year.
Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam chaired a national teleconference on Friday to review the country’s prevention of AIDS, drugs and prostitution in the first half of the year. He noted the importance of raising public awareness on HIV/AIDS, especially that of teenagers, through practical cultural activities on the subject at secondary and high schools. He also urged the Ministry of Health to research new medicine for drug detoxification for pilot experiments in localities.
