An office for emergency response to all diseases including Ebola was established at the airport the same day. The International Health Quarantine Center has two isolation wards at Terminal 1 which have all the necessary equipment and conditions for passengers coming from epidemic areas to make health declarations.
The Department of Preventive Medicine on Monday established an office for emergency response to epidemics including Ebola. The Office, which was co-organized by the World Health Organization and the US Centers for Disease Control, will be a headquarters for receiving, analyzing, and sharing information about epidemics among ministries, sectors, localities, organizations, and individuals inside and outside the country. Tran Dac Phu is the Head of the Department of Preventive Medicine and Head of the Office for Emergency Response for Epidemics: “We will work out plans to follow and coordinate activities among steering committees on dangerous and newly emerged epidemics to implement appropriate measures in emergency cases. We’ll work with the relevant agencies to mobilize all resources inside and outside the country to prevent and respond to epidemics.”
Vietnam has reported no Ebola cases yet but it could be prone to infection.
