Enhancing Vietnam-Japan fraternity for regional cooperation

(VOVworld) – Former Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama has said that reinforcing fraternity between Vietnam and Japan will help boost regional cooperation. He spoke to VOV in an interview to mark the 40th anniversary of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic ties and Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung’s on-going visit to Japan.

Mr. Hatoyama underlined that Vietnam and Japan have important positions in East Asia. He said the two nations have many opportunities to cooperate in important areas such as in energy and environment.

"The Vietnam-Japan relationship is not merely a strategic partnership. The two countries are friends sharing the same heart beats. People of our countries can understand each other without talking. Vietnam is the country with which Japan has built its most reliable relationship. Several events have been held to mark the 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties which have improved our mutual understanding." said Hatoyama. 

Mr. Hatoyama said the reliable relationship between the leaders of the two countries is the most valuable thing for Japan. He added that it’s important for Vietnam to train young, professional personnel to serve national development. He encouraged Vietnam to apply Japan’s vocational training model.
