Chairman of the Vietnam-Sweden Friendship Association Hoang The Lien reviewed bilateral relations over the past years and the Danish government’s assistance for Vietnam’s economic reform and international integration. Major cooperative projects include the Bai Bang paper mill, Olof Palme hospital, the now Central Hospital of Pediatrics, Uong Bi General hospital, and SIDA education program.
Swedish Ambassador Camilla Mellander addressed the event. “We are heading toward a new phase of bilateral cooperation for a more equal partnership with trade affairs being the centre. Sweden wants to broaden its relations with Vietnam. We will, as good friends, hold open and frank dialogue on trade and other related issues. I confirm that Sweden will be more active in Vietnam in the future and we’ll together celebrate many more events.”
