(VOVworld) – The Fund for people-to-people diplomacy is an affiliate of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organization (VUFO).
Speaking at the Fund’s inauguration in Hanoi on Thursday, VUFO Vice President and Secretary General Don Tuan Phong said the Fund will be a channel for foreign and Vietnamese organizations to carry out people to people diplomatic activities and enhance non-governmental cooperation between Vietnam and other countries.
Marko Lovrekovic, Director of VUFO-NGO Resource Centre, said: “Today’s ceremony marks the beginning of the new era. Now I join in the course to support Vietnam’s development. The country is becoming stronger, richer, and more prosperous. We’ve experienced positive changes and we must look for new ways to support people and further reduce poverty. The ceremony is an important event to launch the new fund for people-to-people relations which will specify and support future actions in Vietnam.”As a government-funded non-profit organization, the Fund will also mobilize resources from inside and outside Vietnam for people-to-people exchanges with other countries."
