Deputy Minister Hoang Van Thang said the industry has implemented measures to reduce green house gas emissions: “The Ministry has initiated a program of action to deliver commitments at the Paris Agreement on Climate Change. To reduce CO2 emission, the industry will restructure to improve added value and sustainable development by less consumption of natural resources, including land and water. We should adapt to the eco-system while not relying too much on natural resources.”
Vietnam aims to reduce 8% of its green house gas emission by 2030 in an ordinary scenario and even up to 25% with international support. Vietnam needs some 30 billion dollars by 2020 to achieve those targets.
