(VOVworld) – The 65th anniversary of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations and the Vietnam Peace Committee was celebrated in Ho Chi Minh City on Saturday.

Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City Peace Committee, Ton Nu Thi Ninh, said peace is an invaluable asset that the predecessors hand over to the next generation. She urged Vietnamese youth to treasure and continue to promote peace for the future.
President of HCM City’s Union of Friendship Organizations, Le Hung Quoc, said people’s diplomacy plays an important role in national construction and defense: “Given unstable global situation, people’s diplomacy should promote its role to connect people. Representatives of many countries have contacted the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations to enhance people-to-people exchange. It creates sustainability and momentum for economic development.”
