(VOVworld)-Water management and water treatment technology topped the agenda of the 12th International Symposium on Southeast Asian Water Environment which opened in Hanoi on Tuesday.
Regional researchers, managers and policy makers exchanged views on coastal and offshore water environment, urban flooding and its impact on people’s health and groundwater pollution control.

They also discussed climate change and water environment management, water supply and treatment, emerging contaminants and environmental technology and appropriate technology for water treatment and sanitation.
The symposium was co-organized by Vietnam’s National University of Civil Engineering, the Vietnam Environment Administration, the Institute for Global Environment Strategies, University of Tokyo and the Ministry of the Environment of Japan.
The event will conclude on Wednesday.
