(VOVworld) – An awards ceremony for the winning literary and artistic works in a contest on agriculture and rural development was held in Hanoi on Tuesday. Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh and VOV President Nguyen The Ky attended the event. Tang Minh Loc, head of the contest’s organizing committee, said the works promote new rural development and motivate farmers: “The authors of these works have contributed significantly to the new rural development program. We hope that the contest has helped people across Vietnam better understand Vietnam’s policy on agriculture, farmers, and rural development.”

After the contest was launched in August, 2015, the organizing board received 2,700 entries from 1,200 authors in 3 categories: literature, photography, and songs. 57 works won awards. Nguyen Hung Phuc, the youngest contestant, said: “My song is called “The return day”. I think that rural development is linked with youth so I decided to take part in the contest with a youth-style composition.”
