(VOVworld) – The Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs held a discussion on an initiatives contest to promote sustainable poverty reduction through community efforts.

Deputy Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Trong Dam spoke at the workshop.

Addressing a workshop on Tuesday, Deputy Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, Nguyen Trong Dam, praised resources invested by the State, business and community contributions  and poor people’s determination in poverty reduction. Dam cited the national target program by 2020 to decentralize community and encourage local initiatives in narrowing the gap between rich and poor. He said:“The contest to promote poverty reduction initiatives from community aims to boost communications and incentives for all-out efforts to look for community based solutions. Successful models should be duplicated for spin-off effects.”
