National Hero Tran Hung Dao’s 716th death anniversary solemnly celebrated
(VOVworld) – The 716th death anniversary of National Hero Tran Hung Dao was solemnly celebrated and Con Son – Kiep Bac autumn festival was opened in Hai Duong province on Saturday.

Born to Tran royal family in 1228, Great Lord Hung Dao was both a scholar and a warrior. Under the command of him and Tran kings, the army and people of Dai Viet (former name of Vietnam) achieved brilliant feats of arms when the Yuan-Mongol enemy invaded the country in the 13th century. The annual Con Son – Kiep Bac autumn festival attracts large number of pilgrims and visitors.
On Friday night, a folk singing performance was held at Kiep Bac Temple, Hai Duong province. This was part of unique rituals of Con Son – Kiep Bac autumn festival to praise significant contributions by Great Lord Hung Dao and other predecessors to the nation.
