National Party Congress discusses solutions to complete e-Government by 2025
(VOVWORLD) - Delegates of the 13th National Party Congress on Wednesday morning discussed solutions to achieve the goals of turning Vietnam into a country with modern industry and high middle income by 2030 and a developed, high-income country by 2045, and to complete e-Government building by 2025.

Finance Minister Dinh Tien Dung said that Vietnam has accelerated restructuring of public debt towards more sustainability, increased the proportion of domestic loans from 39% in 2011 to 64% in 2020 and reduced the size of public debt from 63.7% in 2016 to 55.8% of the GDP by the end of 2020.
“By 2025, we are set to complete e-government and digital government in key national and public finance sectors such as state budget, tax, customs, securities, and management of State capital in enterprises,” said Minister Dung.

Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong agreed with the political report on vigorously reforming the growth model, restructuring the economy, strengthening national industrialization and modernization, focusing on innovation, promoting digital transformation, and developing the digital economy and digital society. He said Vietnam needs a strategy to develop a knowledge-based economy for the 2021-2030 period, vision to 2045.
"The strategy needs to properly assess the current situation and clearly define the viewpoint of developing knowledge-based economy. The model of knowledge-based economy in our country needs to be in the macro level and to concretize the strength of the country, each locality, sector and field. The strategy needs to define and implement the roadmap, steps and appropriate solutions, clearly identify breakthroughs, give priority to the development of the knowledge-based economy in the fields that apply strongly technology, big urban centers and key economic sectors to create a spillover effect on other sectors and localities,” said Mr. Phong.
