The event will feature art performances, carnivals, and parades featuring 2,000 artists. Director of the opening ceremony Pham Hoang Nam said: “The opening ceremony for National Tourism Year 2018 and the Carnival Ha Long 2018 will feature programs that depict the beauty of Quang Ninh as well as other tourism destinations across the country. We design a stage open to the Ha Long Bay where tourist activities and displays of fireworks will take place. Ha Long Bay will be the background of our stage.”

A flower parade featuring artists from Vietnam, Europe, and ASEAN took place in Ha Long on Thursday.
