(VOVworld) – This year the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs will consult the government to develop a new poverty line for the 2016-2020 period.

Minister Pham Thi Hai Chuyen said that together with the new poverty line new policies will be issued to prevent re-impoverishment: “We have consulted the government in infrastructure development for poor ethnic communes to help the locals develop their production. We have replaced grants by loans to help poor households stand on their own feet. This year we will develop a new poverty line close to the global standard.”
