New Year gatherings of Vietnamese communities around the world
(VOV) – Vietnamese communities in many countries have held gatherings to celebrate the Lunar New Year or Tet.
In Laos, the Xieng Khoang club organized a New Year meeting on Sunday for overseas Vietnamese. Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Manh Hung praised the efforts of the club’s members over the past year and wished them a happy new year. Hung expressed his hope that the Vietnamese community in Laos will continue to be united, preserve Vietnamese cultural values, and boost Vietnam – Laos relations.
In Berlin, Germany, authorities of the Treptow-Koepenick district, in collaboration with Vietnam’s “Dialogue” and “Kindness” associations held a New Year get-together for the Vietnamese community there.
A banquet was held at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris on Saturday to celebrate the Lunar New Year festival. The event was organized by the Vietnamese Association (UGVF) in co-ordination with the Vietnamese Students’ Association (UEVF) and the Vietnamese Youth Association (UJVF) of France. In the city of Tours, a gala night took place to mark the Lunar New Year.
