An art performance at the opening ceremony of Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa Sea Festival 2017

50 cultural, sport, tourist, and community activities and exhibitions will take place at the festival which will run through Tuesday.

During this year’s festival, more street activities will be held to attract domestic and foreign visitors and get them involved in the program.

This is a good opportunity for Khanh Hoa to promote the potential of Nha Trang sea tourism, special tours, and typical cultural features of the province.

Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam praises Khanh Hoa’s efforts to organize activities for the sea and islands.

Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam said at the opening ceremony: “We should join efforts by doing the most practical, even the smallest thing like to picking up trash or smiling to make Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa, and Vietnam more beautiful, attractive, safer, and friendlier so that international visitors will have good impression on our country. Let’s create a favorable investment environment to make the hospitality sector a spearhead economic industry so that Vietnam can develop more sustainably.”

Earlier, various activities were also held including street lion-dragon dance festival; Khanh Hoa bird’s nest festival; Me Trang coffee festival; cuisine festival; whale worshipping festival, bai choi singing, folk games on beach (fishing contest, human chess, tugging), seminar on “Sustainable development of bird’s nest trade”; and an international trade fair.
