Overseas Vietnamese contribute to HCM City’s scientific, technological development
(VOVworld) – Delegates to the 3rd Overseas Vietnamese conference attended 2 symposiums on ways to develop science, technology, and knowledge-based economy and to invest in trade and services in Ho Chi Minh City on Sunday.

Delegates said to become one of major hubs of Southeast Asia by 2020, the city needs to focus on research and development combined with municipal socio-economic plans, form the innovative start-up ecology, and develop technological market. Prof. Nguyen Dang Bang, lecturer of Cambridge University, the UK, said: “It’s important to upgrade hi-tech centres and build a high quality research university, which aims to be included in the top 50 of the world after 20 or 25 years. This task is not easy but we can do it.”
