PM describes mass mobilization tasks for 2018 as “tough”
(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has said the mass mobilization sector will face tough tasks in 2018 and called for efforts to build an administrative apparatus of strong action to serve the people.
Mr. Phuc addressed a national conference in Hanoi on Wednesday to review mass mobilization performance last year and set out tasks for 2018: “People’s satisfaction should be considered a measurement of public agency’s performance. The rule of law and discipline should be observed. We should persuade people and be role models, instead of using our power to oppress people. It’s urgent to inspect and deal strictly with officials who have committed acts of abuse, corruption, and harassment of people.”
The Prime Minister urged leaders of ministries, sectors, and localities to increase contact, dialogue, and press conferences to receive people’s feedback and answer their queries.
Participants said the mass mobilization sector has performed well in encouraging people involved in socio-economic development, helping victims of natural disasters, reforming administrative procedures, and implementing grassroots democracy.
