VUFO Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Phuong Nga meets with reporters to mark the 94th anniversary of Vietnam's Revolutionary Press Day.

VUFO Chairwoman Nguyen Phuong Nga said the Union has confirmed its key role in people’s diplomacy and contributing to national peace, stability, international cooperation, and national defense and sovereignty. She said the Union's achievements are attributable partly to the contributions by media. Nga also highlighted the role of the media in promoting the image of Vietnam to foreign friends to gain their support for national construction and defense. 

Vietnam will host many important events in 2020, when the country will take the Chair of ASEAN and a non-permanent seat in the UN Security Council. People’s diplomacy affairs should be further promoted to rally international support in building a peaceful, stable environment for national development, Nga said and called on journalists to work with the Union in undertaking these tasks.
