Provinces respond to 2013 Earth Hour
(VOVworld) – Vietnam holds a number of activities to respond to 2013 Earth Hour campaign today, March 23. Da Nang city’s leaders called on all officials to seriously respond to the campaign. Media agencies are urged to intensify information dissemination about the event and power saving.
In the ancient city of Hoi An, people, tourists, officials, businesses, and organizations join in a “one-hour lights-off for a cleaner Hoi An” campaign. Moreover, more than 5,000 leaflets were delivered, calling on people from all walks of life to join the event in the city.
Some electric power companies responded to the campaign from March 18-24 by observing a power saving week. The Dak Nong Electric Power Company coordinated with local media agencies to raise public awareness of energy conservation, and distributed 16,000 leaflets of power saving instructions to people.
Kon Tum province’s Department of Industry and Trade has called for coordination with the province’s electric power company to hold activities in response to 2013 Earth Hour, promoting the enforcement of the law on energy efficiency and conservation.
