(VOVworld) – With the theme “Quang Ninh – Convergence and Pervasion”, the Ha Long Carnival 2014 kicked off Wednesday in Ha Long City as part of the 2014 Ha Long- Quang Ninh Tourism Week with colorful activities. The carnival opened with the show “Ha Long Impression” featuring the performances of most outstanding singers of Quang Ninh province plus nearly 300 artists from other countries including Laos, Thailand, and China.

This was followed by a parade with performances on mobile stages with the participation of nearly 4000 professional and amateur actors and actresses including those from different ethnic minorities of Quang Ninh, reflecting the provincial diverse cultural identities. Vu Thi Thu Thuy is deputy chairwoman of the Quang Ninh provincial People’s Committee: "Ha Long 2014 Carnival welcomes both domestic and foreign visitors to visit and explore Quang Ninh province’s world cultural heritage Ha Long Bay among many other cultural relic sites. The carnival is expected to leave unforgettable memories on visitors of Quang Ninh province with more than 500 cultural and historical relics."
