(VOVworld)- A workshop on integrating agricultural and rural modernization in new rural development took place in Hanoi on Thursday.

The participants praised the Party and State’s attention to and investment in agriculture and rural areas. In his address, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh said that in the last 30 years of renovation, the agricultural sector has obtained remarkable achievements, people’s lives have been improved and the poverty rate has reduced sharply: “It’s urgent to increase agricultural productivity. Vietnam has both opportunities and challenges in boosting the development of agriculture, farmers and rural Vietnam. We should focus on market demands rather on providing the market with what we have. Vietnam needs to consistently pursue our socialist-oriented market economy”.
